Over the last 15 years, LIZADEEL has dedicated itself entirely to Children’s Rights and has devoted most of its energy to the communication and education around Children’s Rights, building on the Convention relative to the Rights of the Children (CRC). In the same time, we extended our field of activity to Women’s Rights on the ground of the inextricable bonds that unite a child to his mother. Our motto: “The judicial rehabilitation of the victims of today’s violence contributes effectively to the prevention of violence against Children and Women”. Within the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country thrown into turmoil by violence, by massive Human Rights violations and by the impunity of perpetrators of all kinds of wrongful acts, LIZADEEL created in 1999 a specialized entity called “Center for Judicial and Psychosocial Assistance for Children and Mothers Victims of Violence” (CAJEM), which is a structure dedicated to supporting women and children victims of violence in order to help them assert their rights before the competent judicial authorities. The support we offer also includes psychosocial care, medical referral and socio-economic reintegration.
